WESTON — Compounding, retailing and personal service are the hallmark values that distinguish the three community pharmacies owned by the Dinno family of Weston.

The flagship store, Keyes Drug in Auburndale, Acton Pharmacy and their latest acquisition, West Concord Pharmacy, occupy a niche in a market dominated by giants.

Ramzi Dinno bought Keyes Drug in 1985 and the Acton location in 1997. His sons Saad and Raied graduated from Weston High School in 1988 and 1990, respectively. In 2002, he passed the business to his two sons, but stayed on as an employee. The brothers bought the West Concord location in 2008.

Their specialties include pediatrics, hormone replacement therapy, pain management, dermatology and veterinary medicine.

Compounding, or “the art of making medicine from scratch,” said Saad, helps them tailor to specific patient needs in order to counteract allergies.

The three locations are full-service pharmacies and both brothers are certified to administer flu vaccines.

“Keyes is the oldest independent pharmacy in the area,” said Raied, having been in operation since 1885. “You have to win the trust of the customers, show them you’re continuing an upgraded version of what the previous owners had.”
